OMG!! We have a 1.5-2 year old rescue dog and have wondered for over a year what he is. He is absolutely beautiful. Everyone stops us to ask what type of dog he is. Everything about him (Ozzie) matches your descriptions here. He runs like a bullet, loves everyone, is never grouchy and is smart. I could never be in a bad mood with him around. Two differences are his eyes are bright powder blue marbles with pronounced beautiful dark circles around them, like a mask. And his ears are small and floppy like a boxer. At the dog park yesterday, a woman told us he looks like a Basengi. Right on!! We are amazed and so happy to know this information. Cheryl and Wally

He may be a Basenji Mix. Lots of them look majorly and act majorly like a Basenji – seems that the “other” breed gets overpowered by Basenji traits. Love him for what he is, and join the Basenji list for great help with any issues you may discover as time goes on. This is a great group with some very knowledgeable people on board who are very willing to share their knowledge with newbies. We’ve been members for ages, this is our 4th Basenji, and still learn stuff from the experts on this board.

Hi Betty, I have an adorable basenji named Lacan. In the last week he was diagnosed with Fanconi Syndrome. I would like to join the group on yahoo, but since I live in Brazil, I have no way to send a check to you, even sending the form by mail, in times of pandemic, will take too long… I’ve already tried other times to sign up and have not been able to do it. How it would be possible? or it’s not possible?

I think I may have difficulties finding a vet to accept to do the protocol….I am desolated… By any chance, do you know any vet here in Brazil who uses the protocol?

    Best regards
